Vinther-Bachmeier Sioux City Cigar-Object Encounter

Mid-Continent Airlines pilots Lawrence W. Vinther and James F. Bachmeier reported a bright light closing rapidly after takeoff from Sioux City. After it passed, they saw a cigar-shaped silhouette; the object then reportedly reversed direction, paced the aircraft, and climbed away.
