Pilot Frederick Valentich radioed Melbourne air traffic control describing an unidentified metallic, green-lighted object repeatedly maneuvering around and above his Cessna 182. He then reported rough engine operation; after a final open-microphone interval, no further transmission was received and neither aircraft nor pilot was found.
